True madness
I haven't written in a while. Since last we spoke my recipe collections have skyrocketed. I got an eyebrow membership for $40/3 months. I am now in search of a mani/pedi package! How wonderful would it be to have a package at a place so you pay one price and go in whenever you feel like it.
I started working. I went to a ridiculously nice dinner the other night and tried octopus, rabbit and oysters. Not a fan of oysters. I also learned of St. Jermaine. I intend to use St. Jermaine in all my drinks now. St. Jermaine, grapefruit, soda and Hangar One.
The hubby bought a new property and he is very busy with that.

Pink continued
Sammie never got her MIL's pink ring back. She went to the mall to find the closest thing to replace the ring. Sammie gave the ring to the MIL and explained that the original ring was lost by the restaurant....totally putting the blame of the loss on the restaurant. Sammie to this day always stops at every single ring stand/shop to find her MIL's long lost ring. Maybe one day she will find it.

The Crazy Daughter in Law
I have recently become a daughter in law to a very awesomely loving family. I have run across quite a few scenarios where I act in accordance to what I feel dutifully correct of a Indian daughter in law (DIL). However, in my mind, I imagine this crazy daughter in law character which is up to no good. She is a sweetheart that means no harm, however, she is slightly mischievous.
Sammie is a 26 year old Indian girl born and raised in Boston, MA. She was raised to focus on her studies in a fairly westernized family. She got married to the man of her dreams who happened to live in SF, CA. She moved across the country to live with her husband. She has to live with her in-laws for the first half of her marriage.
THE RING
Sammie borrows a pink ring from her mother-in-law (MIL) to wear to a birthday party. Sammie goes out and leaves the pink ring on the soap dispenser of the burger joint she went prior to the party. She wakes up in the morning and realizes that she left her pink ring at the burger joint. She is freaking out about what she should do because she doesn't want her MIL to think she is irresponsible. Sammie hopes that the whole thing will blow over and her MIL will forget about her pink ring. Mid afternoon the next day, Sammie walks into MIL's room and sees her jewelry box blatantly sitting on her bed. Sammie realizes that the MIL is probably trying to hint at her to return her pink ring. Unfortunately for Sammie, pink ring does not exist right now. Sammie tells the MIL that the pink ring is at the restaurant which she needs to go back and pick up at some point.

Updates
Hello Blog,
I have been so very negligent with you. I know, I am sorry. I don't have any excuses. Anyway, I have been in San Fran for three months now. What have I accomplished ? I got my drivers license, which is great ! I start working this coming Wednesday at AMB, a publicly traded REIT, as an SEC Reporting Analyst. This sounds pretty cool, I'm excited. Finally I am going to be working a steady 9-5 as opposed to the random hours I was experiencing in auditing. I am aware that there will be long hours during quarter end. Which I am expecting and hoping won't be too bad! I think what my mentality is to get on board, save money and then go to school. This means I actually have to SAVE money. I was a housewife for three months of my life, lOl. I learned how the flow of things work in this home. Understand the basics of a lot. Got acclimated to the home and the family. I started up on a few hobbies. This is going to be a cool new chapter of my life..looking forward to it!

Gripes & Hobbies
GRIPes
Let me start by saying that I have three gripes about San Francisco. The first gripe is that I do NOT trust yelp/citysearch/menupages of SF. I just tried looking up the best hair salon in SF on Citysearch and it came up with a salon which does NOT even have a website. Sounds like a manager bumping his own reviews! Menupages also doesn't have enough reviews from city dwellers. I know I shouldn't complain about this, seeing that I do not leave comments on Menupages, however I have in the past in NYC. I diverge. My point is is that the people of SF should use menupages more - LEAVE COMMENTS. I also think that yelp and citysearch shouldn't be tweaked by managers. My second gripe is cabs. This is a full blown city. Where the fuck are the cabs ? I will randomly see a van here and there. That is not enough. There are mad tourists, young professionals and alcoholics roaming around after 2am who should NOT be driving. Unfortunately they do not have a choice. They have to drive. Public transportation? These guppies don't use the train during the day, why the hell would they use it at night? CABS should be more prevalent in this city. My last gripe is tax. Okay fine, I haven't been paying for anything as of late. I still notice. Tax is outrageous in this city...and this whole nonsensical 4% tax tacked on at some restaurants for health care for their employees ? WOW.
Singing. So I have decided that I am going to take singing lessons with a woman named Heather. I believe that I have a gorgeous voice and that it needs to be exercised. I am not attempting at becoming a singer, it is just one of my many new found hobbies :). I think that the beautiful note sung during the entertainment night of my wedding proved to the world that there MAY be a talent there waiting to be uncovered. Hey, even if there isn't- a girl can dream ? Plus, it is fun. I was always in chorus growing up and secretly crossed my fingers to be picked as the soloist. I have definitely been told that I have a nice singing voice. If only I can get the lyrics right !
Photography. I took a bunch of pictures at Golden Gate Park during the daytime and Noe Valley/Castro during the evening. I had a lot of fun doing it and think that my images are pretty bad ass for my first honest attempt at photography.
Reading. I am still reading Atlas Shrugged. Had a great time reading it back to back with my hubby at Golden Gate Park. This book is crazy long, but I can't wait to be finished with it so I can spend a full day at a bookstore looking for my next fresh book !
Writing. This blog. Which I need to start updating more often. However, it is a start and once I have more of a focus, I will be updating it more often ! =)
Volunteer work & Education. I am really excited about this new hobby. I have always wanted to become a teacher. I may not be a full blown teacher as of now, but at least I am doing something that I love doing and heading in the right direction. I am a reading partners volunteer at Sanchez Elementary School. Every Thursday for an hour, I tutor a 2nd grader named Naomi. Apparently with 30 tutoring hours, Naomi is expected to advance a full grade level.
Health. KP got me a water bottle. I am going to drink two of these water bottles everyday. Religiously. I am also going to start Chalean Extreme on Monday. I came up with a goal for myself. Once I destroy the fat on my body (build muscle and lose approximately 10 lbs. of fat), I will get a killer haircut at (best hairsalon in SF) - notice that I do not have a definitive place yet. (Please refer to gripe number one). Anyway, once I lose this fat and look smoking hot again. I will get a fabulous new haircut and color, a new outfit from BCBG, a mani/pedi/facial. I absolutely can not wait !!! =) I wonder how long it will take me to burn 10 lbs. of fat ? Knowing me...it will take approximately 6 weeks.
So that is it ladies and gentelmen. My gripes and hobbies. The ongoings of my mind. I wish I could upload pictures for you. However, my computer rejected my camera and I am hoping to fix this situation for my next blog post. Till then- I leave you with this poem. (which will one day become a famous song..that I sing..and have a video to.)
There is a box which resides in my head.
My head. My head. My head.
Waiting to be Pandora.
Explore and escape into where she said.
Said. Said. Said.
That is the chorus. If I gave you the lyrics now, you would copy it . ADIOS ! =)

Why Blog?
I want my opinion to be voiced. I also feel that a blog will force me to delve further into my own opinions. It will point to me what my interests are and will encourage me to research more on certain topics and to write about them. I feel like a blog can be a representation of one's character. I am not writing for you , I am writing for me. These are my thoughts. They belong to me. If I choose to make this blog public, it will feel liberating. You can comment on them, I will read your criticism. I will learn about your thoughts on my thoughts. We all have thoughts. We all have opinions. I would love to take a stand on my opinions. Whether that be on travels, family, food, love, life, myself, makeup, hair, whatever have you.
Snooki

So there is this girl named Nicole, better known as SNOOKI. Perhaps this is dated as the entire Jersey Shore (season one) is over- but who cares..we aren't talking about anything worthwhile. Snooki is going to get paid $10,000 per episode next season. To do what ? To walk around like a bimbo, hook up, drink, party and strut her small little self. Am I or the rest of the country jealous ? I'm not sure. Define jealousy. I actually sat through my first episode last night - sat through a full hour. Will I watch another episode ? Definitely not. I will not watch another episode because I feel like it is an insult to my time. However, if it were on the tube, would I be bored by it ? No. It serves its purpose- it is entertaining and makes some people feel better about themselves - that they aren't as stupid as Snooki.
My friend in NYC, Deborah Hong, was actually in Glamour this month posing as Snooki. Not only is Snooki making money for herself- she has become one of America's favorite reality TV stars. People want to know what she is going to do next. It's random and unpredictable. Wildly entertaining. Yet, stupid. SIGH !

Travels
So I have been to a few cultural places with my family...a few NOT so cultural..but totally intoxicating places with my friends. Let's do a laundry list. International only. Domestic is expansive and the only place I want to see now is Seattle, New Orleans and Hawaii.
Switzerland
France
Canada
Spain (Madrid & Barcelona)
Maldives (Fesdu & Vabbinfaru)
Cancun
Jamaica
Costa Rica
St. Maarten
India (Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, and Gujarat)
Italy
Austria
London
Germany
Belgium
Bahamas
Portugal
Dubai
Now that that is done. I want to mark where I want to go next (internationally): Morocco, Hong Kong, Australia/Fiji/New Zealand. Those places are definitely on top of my list :)

Mustache
My first Blog Post
So I have created a blog. When someone asks me what I have been doing in SF as of late..I can say "I have started a blog." It is a start, right? It is a great way to also keep in touch with my friends on the other side of the country.
Asides from this blog which I just created, I have been doing a bunch of other stuff..such as learning how to cook and being organized. I harassed my husband for about a week to take me to the DMV so I can get a drivers license handbook..but of course once I got the handbook- I never bothered to open it and study. What have I accomplished in the last month which I have been here?
I have applied to A LOT of jobs.
